The surfer’s dream is to follow the summer around the world. Bruce Brown narrates the film on his trip with his surfing buddies, Robert August and Mike Henson as they pursue that dream. The surfboards are their only luggage and as they travel form coastline to coastline and around the world to Tahiti, Australia Africa and Hawaii. They visit a number of other countries that most people have never heard of; places where surf boards were something new for the native people. In their travels they are able to learn a lot about the world and people of different cultures as they continue to search for that perfect wave.

Despite the fact that this film is over thirty years old it's just as good as when it first came out in 66. No plot, No stars. Two guys who take off to surf the world (or at least as much of it as they can)in search of the perfect wave and are photographed as they do it. Good narration and great surfing footage along with the right amount of humor thrown in makes it an endless classic without really being a documentary.
