In a modern adaptation of the 1726 Jonathon Swift, Lemuel Gulliver (Jack Black), a mailroom worker at a New York newspaper, has a thing for travel editor Darcy Silverman (Amanda Peet), but lacks the confidence to ask her out.  When he visits her office to talk to her, he inadvertently accepts a travel assignment that will take him through the Bermuda Triangle.  When Gulliver becomes shipwrecked at the mysterious kingdom of Lilliput, inhabited by tiny villagers led by General Edward (Chris O'Dowd), he is imprisoned.  Befriended by Horatio (Jason Segel) Gulliver eventually wins the respect and trust of the Lilliputians.  However, is banished when he cannot keep up with his exaggerations and lies.  Through a strange series of events, Gulliver gets a chance to redeem himself to both the Lilliputians and Darcy, but will he make the most of it?
